Koyna Dam. A visit to the Koyna Dam is always breathtakingly awesome. It is where technology meets nature. At the entrance towards the Shivaji Sagar words written in blue-white colour ‘This water is scared…This water nourishes all…This water brings prosperity to the nation!’ welcomes the visitor. The majestic Koyna Dam houses the Koyna Hydro-Electric Project (KHP) — the largest hydroelectric power station in India with a total capacity of 1,960 mega watt. The dam is built over Koyna river considered as the lifeline of Maharashtra.

Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary is a Natural World Heritage Site, Nested in the Western Ghats, It forms the northern portion of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, with Chandoli National Park forming the southern part. Spread across 423.55 km2, the sanctuary is dense and has a lot to offer to the tourist. Varieties of mammals including Bengal tigers, Indian Bison, Sambar Deer, Giant squirrels and more. 1st Tiger Reserve of Western Maharashtra and the 4th Tiger Reserve of the State.

Ozarde Waterfall

Nested in the thick jungle of Koyna,is the Ozarde waterfall. This waterfall is famous for its massive drop and the evergreen forests. One has to trek for about 45 minutes through dense forest to reach the waterfall,crossing may small streams where on can take a break to play in the water. It can be a tedious journey for some to reach the waterfall. But, the aftermath of the trip overcomes the tiredness

Kaas Plateau of Flowers & Wind Energy Park

The Plateau of Flowers and the Wind energy Park is Situated at Vankusawade about 40 kms from Koyna.The wind energy park is one of the largest in the country and one can witness hundreds of wind mills. Set amidst lush green hills, valleys and the red soil these windmills make a beautiful sight. During the months of August & September ,the entire plateau is coverd with Pink ,White, Blue and yellow cloured Carpets of flowers and is a sight to behold.

Nehru Garden

This garden is built in the memory of Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minster of independent India. This is one of the majour tourist attraction in Koyna. It has an audio video interpretation centre that gives information about the history of the Koyna Dam and the Hydro electric project.One can get a close view of the Dam from the garden.

Ghatmatha

As the name indicates ghatmatha is one of the highest peak in Sahyadri Hills, This points connects Kokan and Deccan plateau. Cool breeze and Sunset point are the attraction here. During Monsoons the entire Ghat is full of many small Waterfalls.It is just 15 minutes away from Koynanagar
